Our brow services are created and tailored to you, with results lasting 4-6 weeks. They are low maintenance, but the right aftercare advice for eyebrow shaping, tinting, and lash lifting is still essential. Not only will it help keep your brows and lashes looking their best, but it will also help to protect your lash and brow hairs and the delicate skin around them.
HD BROWSCULPT
For the first 24/48 hours after treatment, it is crucial that you:
- Avoid getting the brow area wet for 24 hours. Coming into contact with water could interfere with the lamination process and impact the longevity of your treatment. Avoid swimming pools and baths for 24 hours. Be extra careful in the shower and when washing your face (avoiding it if possible). Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours.
- Your stylist will apply some make-up to complete your BrowSculpt treatment. After that, we recommend avoiding heavy make-up around the brow (such as foundation or concealer) for 24 hours. The hair follicles can remain open for a while after hair removal, so if you are prone to sensitivity or breakouts, you may find that heavy make-up could clog the pores.
- We strongly recommend applying a conditioning serum twice daily after brow lamination to maintain healthy, hydrated eyebrow hairs. You wouldn’t undergo a chemical treatment on your hair without conditioning and caring for it, and your brows should be no different. The HD Brows Tint Lock Serum is ideal as it strengthens and conditions the hair and prolongs the wear of your eyebrow tint.
- Avoid excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours.
We also recommend that you follow these guidelines in the run-up to and the days after your BrowSculpt treatment:
- Avoid using exfoliating products (AHA, BHA, or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for 3 days on either side of your treatment.
- Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days on either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint (unless you’re after khaki-coloured brows)
How do I keep my brows in shape after brow lamination?
Brow lamination does not permanently set your hair in your desired brushed-up position. Instead, it breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. You’ll need to brush them back into place with a spoolie in the morning to restore that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks.
HD BROWSCULPT is a chemical process similar to a lash lift or hair perm, so it cannot be removed by you or us. However, as mentioned, the hairs are not fixed, so if you don’t like the brushed-up position, you can brush them back down with a spoolie brush, and they will stay in place all day. The results will fade after 6-8 weeks, and your brows will return to their natural growth pattern.
Suppose you wish to enhance your HD BROWSCULPT and maintain that freshly laminated look until your next appointment. You can also use an ultra-strong eyebrow gel such as HD Brow Glue.
LASHUS The Lift
Lash Lifts are much lower-maintenance than eyelash extensions. However, your lashes will need extra care over the first 24-48 hours whilst the lift is still settling into place. Therefore, we advise that you make no plans for social engagements for the 24 hours after.
Please note that if you wear contact lenses, you must remove them before the treatment. Therefore, please bring your lens pot and glasses.
- It is important not to get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs.
- Be gentle with your lashes; no rubbing.
- For 48 hours, do not steam your face. Use saunas/steam rooms, swim or wash your face with hot water.
- Do not use eye make-up for 24 hours.
- Do not use eyelash curlers.
- Do not use waterproof mascaras. Instead, use water-based mascaras and use oil-free eye make-up remover.
- Try not to manipulate into different positions, i.e. when sleeping, applying facial or eye creams, or cleansing the face.
- Do not have any other facial treatments for 24 hours.
- Brush lashes daily with the spoolie brush you received at your appointment.
Remember, the lash lift procedure is similar to a hair perm, so the hair must be kept well-nourished and treated delicately to avoid breakage/weakening.
We recommend:
Use gentle soap-free products around the eyes.
Daily use of a lash nourishing serum/conditioner after 24 hours post-treatment. We recommend LASHUS Elixir. Please ask your therapist for details.
Pat gently to dry.
Regular Lash and Brow Tinting
The following information will fully inform you of the pre- and post-treatment advice in the interest of health and safety. It will also ensure you get the best results from your treatment.
Please remove all eye make-up using a non-oily eye make-up remover and remove contact lenses before lash tinting.
Avoid swimming and sauna for 24 hours.
Oil-based make-up remover can cause the tint to fade.
Direct sunlight will also cause your tint to fade.
Your tint should last approximately 4-6 weeks; this will vary from person to person.
If you have any irritation, swelling or itching after treatment, don’t hesitate to contact us for further advice or contact the relevant healthcare assistant.
HD BROWS
In the first 24-48 hours, as part of your HD Brows aftercare, we recommend:
• Avoid excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours.
• Avoid contact with direct sunlight and the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 48 hours after your treatment.
In the days leading up to and following your HD Brows treatment, we also recommend the following:
• Avoid exfoliating (both acid exfoliators and scrubs) and anti-ageing products around the brow area for three days on either side of your treatment
• Avoid fake tanning products on the face for three days on either side of your treatment
After these time frames, feel free to carry on as usual. But, of course, you can always contact us with any questions.
How to reduce redness after eyebrow waxing and threading?
Redness after eyebrow waxing and eyebrow threading is entirely normal and a common side effect. It’s simply a slight irritation of the follicle from where the hair is removed and should subside over the day. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do to speed up the time it takes to settle, but there are things you can do as part of your eyebrow aftercare that should help.
Avoid using exfoliators (such as scrubs and glycolic acid) or anti-ageing skincare (such as retinol) for three days on either side of your HD Brows treatment to help reduce any skin sensitivity. However, if you have naturally sensitive skin, please let us know. We can apply a barrier to protect the skin when waxing.
If you’re prone to pesky spots or bumps after waxing, there are a few simple tricks to help prevent them from popping up. First, your pores are more open after a hair removal treatment. So it’s best to avoid touching the treated area and applying make-up (such as foundation or concealers) for 24 hours, as this may lead to clogged pores.
Although redness, bumps and slight sensitivity are entirely normal, it’s essential to contact us immediately if you experience any swelling, itchy rashes, bruising, grazes or cuts.
Can I wear make-up after eyebrow waxing and threading?
Your Stylist will apply some HD Brows cosmetics at the finishing stage of your treatment. After that, we advise you to avoid using any other heavy make-up for 24 hours after eyebrow waxing or threading.
Can I go on a sunbed after eyebrow waxing and threading?
You should avoid sunbeds and exposure to direct sunlight for 48 hours after eyebrow waxing or threading. After hair removal, the skin can be sensitive, making it more prone to sunburn.
Can I get my HD Brows wet?
After your HD Brows treatment, it is perfectly fine to get your brows wet. For HDBrowSculpt, you must keep them dry for 24 hours.
However, for 48 hours after your treatment, heat and moisture may cause slight skin irritation, so we recommend avoiding saunas, steam rooms, etc. Showers are fine, but maybe delay that long soak in the bath.
How can I remove my HD Brows eyebrow tint?
Eyebrow tint lasts around six weeks, so we can’t remove it, but the colour will gradually fade. The rate at which it fades will depend on factors such as hair type and skincare regimen. Remember that your colour may be darker and more defined immediately after your treatment. Your Stylist may also have applied some make-up to temporarily fill in any regrowth areas and show you the brow shape you are working toward.
What do you put on eyebrows after HD Brows?
As part of the aftercare advice for eyebrow tinting, we strongly recommend applying the HD Brows Tint Lock Serum to your brows daily. Not only will this help prolong the life of your tint, but it will also keep your brow hairs healthy and conditioned. If your hair were coloured, you’d use a conditioner, so treat your brow hairs the same. If you have sparse brows, your Stylist may put you on a regrowth programme to help you create your dream shape. In the meantime, you can fake it ’til you make it with eyebrow make-up.
Need help choosing the right product for you? Ask your Stylist for their recommendation of HD BROWS Styling products and how to use them.
Can I fake tan after eyebrow tint?
A fake tan is a big no-no before and after an eyebrow tint because the tan can react with the tint, turning your custom tint an unflattering shade of green. Therefore, we advise against applying any tanning products, whether a professional spray tan, self-tanner, or gradual tan moisturiser, for three days on either side of your treatment.
If you wish to tan, apply a barrier such as SOS Balm (or another multi-purpose skin balm) to the hair and around the brow area before tanning to reduce the risk of discolouration.
It’s also worth noting that waxing treatments will remove any fake tan, leaving you with a paler patch around your brows.
Stick to all of the above recommendations for the very best results.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions before or after your lash and brow treatments.
Please note that the minimum age for our lash and brow services is 16 years old.
Patch tests are essential before all HD Brows, HD BrowSculpts, regular lash and brow tints, and lash lift services.
These must be carried out 48 hours before treatment for all new clients.
In addition, a new patch test is required if you have been patch tested and have had any change in your medical history, such as a new medication, or if you have lapsed for more than 6 months between treatments.
Please seek medical advice if you experience any adverse reactions, such as swelling, severe itching, or rashes, with any of our lash and brow services.
